Snow mobile ride in Åmli

January 23rd, 2010

Two or three hours scooter (snow mobile) ride deep in the forests today, the dogs was mainley laying on the sleigh but had to run a great uphill distance where the load was too heavy. They are now flat out on the floor, totally worn out after running in the deep snow. I bet they will have a good night sleep tonight! Good dogs… Driving back home to Andebu tomorrow.

Heelwork and sit

January 20th, 2010

When people ask what I do for living, I want to say “I’m in the heelwork business” as it seems that is all I do these days. I train 20 minutes heelwork every day, with the lead on and the last 3 minutes without the lead. She is getting very good and showing patience and calmness to a level that I am very happy with. After all she is only 9 months, but already way better than Lisa. Today I added a distraction while walking, I dropped a tennisball every now and then. It didn’t affect her calmness. I also trained sit for a while, and she took the command without me saying “stay” as well. Added a rolling tennisball in front of her and she barely looked at it. Will not go crazy because of that, but maybe I will take her to a different place and do it again tomorrow. Good dog…

New blog

January 19th, 2010

I got rid of the old blog and got a better one, it’s a lot easier to manage! Maybe this site will be more dynamic?

Mali had 20 minutes of heelwork training today, and she also sat 1.5hours at the same spot while I did some chores this evening. She started the day being a sly little worm and ending the day being calm and controlled.
